George Weah, former FIFA World Player of the year, was in Neuchâtel, Switzerland this past weekend as part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the FIFA Master. Weah joins other high-ranking sports personalities as a Patron for the FIFA Master course, including Joseph Blatter, Abedi Pelé, Michel Platini, Sergey Bubka, and Nawal El Moutawakel, just to name a few.
The International Centre for Sports Studies hosts international sports conference
On 15th July 2010, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) will welcome representatives from the sports industry to Neuchâtel, Switzerland for its annual ‘FIFA Master Conference’. This year’s conference marks the 10th anniversary of the FIFA Master programme.

FIFA provides invaluable experience for 10th Edition FIFA Master students
10th Edition FIFA Master students followed a long-standing programme tradition on Friday, April 9th, by visiting the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. The International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) co-founded the FIFA Master programme ten years ago, and have since provided students with the opportunity to explore the organisational structure and management tactics of the world’s football headquarters.
The FIFA Master: 10th Edition
Celebrating a decade of educational success, the International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) kicked off the 10th FIFA Master Edition in Leicester.
FIFA Master Graduation 2009
The FIFA Master 9th edition consisted of 25 students, who came from more than 20 different nations from Iran to Eritrea, and India to Slovenia.
They started their course at De Montfort University's International Centre for Sports History and Culture (ICSHC) last September and studied there until Christmas before trimesters in Italy and Switzerland.
9th Edition of the Master visits FIFA Headquarters
Finally now students of the FIFA Master are into the final stretch. And, as has become tradition, the scholars on the programme, in partnership with the CIES (International Center for Sports Studies), paid a visit to world football’s headquarters in Zurich on 3 April where they were treated to words from FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and Director of International Relations Jerome Champagne to see them home.
FIFA Master Alumni Seminar for the first time in Brazil
Celebrating 10 years of existence of the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sports (FIFA Master), Brazilian representatives of the course's alumni association are organizing
The 1st Seminar Fifa Master Alumni, which will be held on 14th March, from 9h to 18h at the Academia Brasileira de Letras, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The CIES Welcomes its New President
Following the meeting of the CIES board on 12th January 2009, the CIES has a new President: Bertrand Reeb.
Mr. Reeb is 65 years old, married with one child and the happy grandfather of three little granddaughters. He lives in Saint-Blaise, a small town in the vicinity of Neuchâtel.
