FIFA MASTER ALUMNI - WHERE ARE THEY NOW? - NIR INBAR

Nir Inbar

Current Position:  Managing Director at Nir Inbar Attorneys at Law / Pro Bono Counsel at FIFA / Lecturer at IDC / Delegate at Euroleague

Year of graduation:  2010 (10th Edition)

Nationality: Israeli / American

What does your current role involve?

I am the founder of the global law firm "Nir Inbar Attorneys at Law". Since it was established, my firm has managed to gain experience in representing international clubs, athletes and intermediaries as a legal counsel and before the judicial bodies of FIFA, UEFA, BAT as well as the CAS. My firm uniquely leads the growing specificities of the Sports-Tech field of law, while accompanying sports and technology related startup companies in the bubbling high-tech scene of Tel Aviv.

Over the past year I have been selected as Pro Bono Legal Counsel at FIFA. I am also a delegate for Euroleague Basketball, and a lecturer of Sports Law and Sports Marketing at the Arison School of Business.

During the past decade I also served as CEO of Hapoel Tel Aviv FC and led the club during its UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues' endeavors.

Which aspects of the FIFA Master course have helped you most in your career?

Taking the FIFA Master course was probably the most important decision I have taken in my professional career. It immediately opened relevant doors in the sports industry and provided me with a professional edge and a very unique networking resource.

Indeed, high level international networking became a main source for business opportunities as I actively cooperate on various projects with alumni members.

Also, during the FIFA Master I managed to gain a broad perspective of the sports' world, experiencing different angles of the relevant stakeholders. In particular, the Law module in Neuchâtel taught me essential tools and the necessary information required to become a professional international sports lawyer.

What advice would you give to future students on the course?

Get ready to work hard but be patient. The chances are you won't find your "dream" job immediately but as graduates of the FIFA Master, your chances are much higher now.

Focus on enjoying every second. Spend as much time as you can with your fellow classmates, watch lots of sports, go out, play and exercise together! Those FIFA Master friendships that you'll make during your studies will prove to become very precious long-lasting bonds.
