CIES attends Leaders 2015 “Sport Business Summit” in London

The International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) joined the Leaders 2015 convention titled “The Sport Business Summit” held at the home of Chelsea FC, Stamford Bridge, London, on the 7th and 8th October 2015. Two intensive days at the summit were filled up with networking and searching for new cooperation opportunities.

The summit gathered a wide range of key stakeholders from the world of sport, including representatives from International Federations, leagues and clubs, as well as various sports brands and media organisations. Nearly 1800 representatives from more than 50 countries were able to take advantage of presentations delivered by over 50 specialist speakers who discussed a variety of issues facing the sports industry today.

“We operate in a field experiencing rapid change. Although CIES is now well established and recognised, it is essential to maintain our visibility in order to promote the various skills and expertise we are able to offer”, said CIES General Secretary Vincent Schatzmann.

“With the impact of new technology, the growing importance of ‘sport business’ in emerging countries, as well as our field of activity becoming more and more professionalized, it is clear that we must continue to innovate to ensure we remain relevant and competitive”, he added.

Alessandro Pellicciotta, Head of Marketing & Development at CIES said, “The infrastructure and opportunities offered at this event were excellent. To have a two-day gathering of such important key stakeholders from the sports world allowed us to truly showcase our activities”.

CIES also sends its congratulations to Hicham El Amrani, alumnus of the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport - “FIFA Master” - who was named the 2015 winner of the “Leaders Under 40” category for Leadership during a special awards ceremony held at London’s historic Natural History Museum.

CIES would like to thank Leaders 2015 “The Sport Business Summit” organisers for the smooth running of the event and look forward to the next edition in 2016.
