"FIFA Master" 17th Edition: Thank you Leicester, it’s been a pleasure!

It is difficult to believe how fast time flies and that the first part of the course is already over. It has been a busy month for our class while going through the communications submodule with Professor Francesco Lurati, a week of research methods study with Dr. Kevin Tallec Marston and presenting our final project proposals to the respected course Scientific Committee.

December started with our communications submodule where we had the chance to work together in groups and learn about the different communication theories and strategies which are applied in the modern world of sport. At the end of this sub module the various groups who had also been working hard on their final project proposals, also got the chance to present the knowledge gained by representing a company of their choice in class and how they would improve their communications strategy.

We also had the second part of our research methods submodule, which has greatly helped us with our final project preparations. Together, we’ve been trying to unite our knowledge by identifying the most important issues in the world of sport which we could work on, and prepare our abstracts for our future final project work.

However, apart from studying, we always find time to take part in sporting activities and to have some fun. On 12th December the 17th edition "FIFA Master" class women’s football team won their first official match against a DMU women’s team! It was an exciting game with the final 6-5 score reflecting just how close the match was.

The module finished with presentations of our final group project research proposals. There are seven groups in total and everyone picked a theme linked to the educational backgrounds of their group, their interests and also the professional experience of the individual group members. It is already clear that there will definitely be some fascinating projects to read from the class in July!

See you in Milan!
