Érico Nogueira, an alumnus of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme organised in Buenos Aires by Universidad Católica Argentina (2011), has been participating in the delivery of major events in the international sports calendar since 2014.

Érico started his career during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Based in Belo Horizonte, he held the position of Coordinator of Competitions and Services for the teams playing their matches in the superb "Estádio Minerão". His position allowed him to meet players from Colombia, Greece, Belgium, Algeria, Croatia, England, Brazil, Chile and Germany. Speaking of this experience he said, "I was really lucky to be involved in the World Cup in Brazil, one of the emblematic countries of world football. I experienced a very emotional moment during the semi-final match between Brazil and Germany, as I witnessed the tears shed by an entire country!"

Two years later, Érico was still in Brazil for a new experience as transport manager for the football cities and the Maracanã area within the framework of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016.

And this year, he is in Russia where he is working as a FIFA Transport Officer in Kaliningrad within the framework of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. His work consists of working with the Local Organising Committee in order to ensure optimal transport and airport services. "In Russia, I need to adapt to a new culture and to be flexible. That is a key requirement in the 21st century. I believe that my Russian experience is wonderful. I would really like to thank the organisers of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme. If I am here today, it is partly thanks to them and all the work they have done to promote education related to sport."

We send our best wishes for success to Érico and we are sure that his work in Russia will be a beneficial experience.
