Height on the pitch: records since 2009

The 87th edition of the CIES Football Observatory Big-5 Weekly Post presents the figures on the tallest and shortest line-ups fielded by big-5 league clubs since 2009. The record for the shortest players is held by Barcelona since the match played against Real Madrid on 7 October 2012: 174.2 cm. At the opposite end of the table is Werder Bremen: 189.8 cm for the match against Cologne on 3 May 2009.

Conversely, at the head of the rankings of the shortest formations during current season are Barcelona (176.4 cm), Nice (177.0 cm), Empoli (178.2 cm), Hertha (179.4 cm) and Manchester City (179.8 cm).

Since the start of the 2014/15 seasons, the teams having fielded the tallest line-ups per league are  Stoke City (188.0 cm), Schalke 04 (186.7 cm), Verona (186.2 cm), Monaco (185.5 cm) and Elche (183.6 cm).
