Lebanon: NDU launches registrations for the second edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme

Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU), the academic partner of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) in Lebanon since 2012, officially launched the registration process for the second edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management which will begin on 27 September 2004.

The first edition of the NDU/FIFA/CIES Programme met with great success and allowed some fifteen students to acquire essential knowledge of sport management in the fields of marketing, sponsorship, law, management, communication, finance and sport event organisation. The students were also able to attend talks given by international experts, including two former FIFA staff members, who offered original perspectives on how to manage sports events and organisations.

The testimonials of alumni who have just received their diplomas show the strong points of the course.

For Maria Saad: “This Programme really motivated me by showing our power and duty to change the world of sport. The days of classes are intensive. The course was a source of energy and courage to continue my discovery of sport. The strengths of the Programme? Receiving relevant information and sharing enriching experience with instructors and guest speakers!”

Ricardo Rubeiz, another alumnus of the first class, adds: “Thanks to this Programme, I was able to acquire a complete and multidisciplinary vision of sport management. (…) It helped me develop my management abilities by offering innovative working techniques and tools which can be adapted both to national and to international contexts (…) I really appreciated this experience because I was able to create contacts with classmates and speakers and extend my network of professional peers.”

The FIFA/CIES Programme is currently organised in sixteen countries, i.e.: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
