Leicester City FC Welcomes FIFA Master Class to the King Power Stadium

For over 18 years, the FIFA Master - International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport course has had a long and proud association with Leicester City Football Club. During the Humanities of Sport module, which is based at De Montfort University’s International Centre for Sports History and Culture, FIFA Master students have been fortunate to be able to visit the home of the Foxes as part of their studies and to learn more about the history and tradition of the 134 year old club.

As a result, FIFA Master students have been part of the incredible sporting story which has unfolded at the club in recent years, with everything from late Premier League survival in the 2014/15 ‘Great Escape’ season, to their historic 5000-1 fairytale Premier League victory in 2015/16 and then reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2016/17 season, before eventually losing to Atlético Madrid. It has been an incredible journey for this East Midlands club.

The field visit for the current 19th edition class began with a tour of the King Power Stadium and was later followed by presentations from senior club representatives on areas such as Club Finance and Legal Affairs.

FIFA Master Humanities of Sport Module Co-ordinator, James Panter said, “We are extremely grateful for the generous help and support Leicester City FC has given to the FIFA Master course. I would like to thank everybody at the club for making us so welcome. Indeed, the club certainly now has many new international fans in our alumni association around the world and they are all part of the Foxes family”.

FIFA Master - International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, ranked No.1 Course in Europe 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 by the SportBusiness International global rankings.

Organised by CIES in partnership with De Montfort University (United Kingdom), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy) and the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
