The lakes and mountains of Switzerland welcome 18th edition FIFA Master Class

Time flies when you’re having fun and completing an intense management module at SDA Bocconi University! Our time in Milan ended with completing exams, a final sport event project, and great speakers from the Euroleague, NBA, Inter Milan, Biathlon Federation and playing a match against Javier Zanetti at the Inter Campus.

We are all appreciative and thankful to Professor Ruta and Elefanti, as well as the other Professors in the business school, for all of their effort and time in delivering such an incredible sports management module for the class. Now, after a Spring Break - which  included a number of us travelling home to visit family and friends, exploring other European countries, and relaxing after such a busy  three months of hard work - we have finally made it to the last leg of the FIFA Master in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

Here, we were welcomed by beautiful serene views of the lake and mountains; the complete opposite from the hustle and bustle of our previous city life in Milan. We have already jumped straight into learning about sports governing bodies and were honoured to listen to lectures from Professor Denis Oswald, Professor Pierre Cornu, and guests from the IOC, ASOIF, and FIFA.

This week, we now have the pleasure of gaining an in depth understanding of UEFA and, more specifically, aspects of club licensing, financial fair play, and competitive balance. We are looking forward to all that our sports law module has to offer, and we are savouring our time in such a beautiful location. We are also counting down the days until warmer weather arrives!

The FIFA Master - International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport is organized by the CIES in partnership with De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, Italy) and the University of Neuchâtel. In 2017 the FIFA Master was ranked as the No.1 course in Europe for the fifth time by the SportBusiness International global rankings.
