Yoliswa Lumka (South Africa) and Olawale Adebukola Olopade (Nigeria), two alumni from the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management organised in cooperation with Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), have been elected to key-positions within the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) - Africa.
Yoliswa, a student from the 6th edition, will act as the vice-president of the Southern Region while Olawale, who attended the 5th edition, will represent the Centre Region.
Olawale, who is very proud to have participated in the NMMU/FIFA/CIES Programme, declared: “I am satisfied to have taken classes at NMMU. It allowed me to refresh my knowledge in a very stimulating environment. Wheelchair basketball has made great progresses in my country even if we still need to improve some technical aspects such as coaching, refereeing and facilities.”
