Welcome to our new CIES Local Coordinator in Russia!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrey Vlasov as the CIES Local Coordinator in Russia. He began his new duties within the FIFA/CIES University Network on 1st November.

Andrey Vlasov holds a doctorate and has devoted most of his professional career to football. He was first tasked with the activity of development within the National Futsal Federation in Russia. Since 2010, he has worked for the Football Union of Russia, in particular as Head of the Technical Department, Deputy Technical Director and Head of the IT and medical units.

Andrey has implemented and supervised several training programmes for coaches, referees and managers as well as development projects for talented young players, in addition to managing competitions at a national level.

Moreover, the new CIES Local Coordinator is the President of the Football Technical Commission of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), for which he organised both the men’s and women’s football tournaments within the framework of the All-World Summer Universiade.

Since 2014, Andrey has been directly involved in the HSE/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Russia. In this capacity, he has given master classes to students attending the different editions of the Programme. As a member of the Academic Board, he has proposed various themes related to football and served on the jury for the presentation of Final Group Projects in Russia.

Speaking on the appointment to his new role Andrey said "Over the years, the HSE/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme has become a benchmark in Russia and even in neighbouring countries. A constantly increasing number of students come from outside Russia. It is gratifying to be able to contribute to this development. My role as the CIES Local Coordinator will allow me to get even more involved and to reinforce the relationship between the Football Union of Russia and the Executive Programme."
