Concomitantly with the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management, the FIFA/CIES International University Network organises or co-organises seminars and conferences on essential themes in the world of sport.

2021

  • The LATAM universities of the FIFA/CIES International University Network organised two online conferences:

    • 5 April: Developing a career in sport with the participation of six alumni who have embarked on a career in a football-related institution (FIFA, Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol, Federación Peruana de Fútbol, Federación Paulista de Fútbol, Club Colo Colo, Club Deportivo Saprissa, Racing Club Avellaneda)
    • 2 December: Sports entrepreneurship and industry with the participation of former students who explained how they had been able to put all or part of their group project into practice.

  • The Universidad de Costa Rica organised its 1st Football Seminar on 5 and 6 October. It organised conferences and debates on the following topics: talent detection, computer data analysis, player transfers, professional reconversion of players, women's football and its performance predictors, football and dietetics, etc.

  • The Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil) has replaced the thematic face-to-face conferences organised within the Programme with a series of online conferences open to students, alumni and the general public. In 2021, they covered the following topics:

    • Webinars 1-4 March: Sport and Human Development, Sport and Education, Sport and Capital, Sport and Finance, Sport and Museums, Brazil at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Olympic Games as a showcase for fashion.
    • Webinars from 23 to 26 August: fiscal aspects of sport in Brazil, career planning in sport, preparations for the 2022 World Cup, marketing the Paralympic Games in the context of Tokyo 2021, the Brazilian championship and cup: history and perspective, crypto assets and sport.

  • The Higher School of Economics organised its traditional annual international conference on 25 March 2021 on the theme of Sport Management in the Face of Uncertainty.

2020

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, no conferences or seminars could be organised.
