Nejat Haciömeroglu



Nejat Haciomeroglu is a scientific collaborator at CIES. He is responsible for assisting our research teams on various legal projects, ensuring the coordination of the FIFA Master’s law module and collaborating on the development of our International University Network programmes.

Nejat holds a bachelor degree in law from the University of Lausanne and a Master degree in sports law from the University of Neuchâtel. In parallel to his Master studies in sports law, he participated in the European Law Moot Court with the Neuchâtel team (regional final in Luxembourg), and took LL.M. classes in international investment law and arbitration at the University of Amsterdam (UVA) as an exchange student. Nejat Haciomeroglu can work in several languages, in particular in English, French and Turkish, and has a passive command of Spanish.

In addition to his work at CIES, Nejat conducts research as a PhD candidate in sports law at the University of Neuchâtel. His research focuses on the applicability of the right to a fair trial under article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) in the context of international dispute resolution in sports law before arbitral tribunals.
