An alumnus participates in the FIFA Women’s administration workshop in Johannesburg

Sandiswa Diba (former Regional women league Coordinator of the "South African Football Association" (SAFA), administrator of "United Brothers Football Club", administrator of the "Port Elizabeth East Football Association" (PEEFA) and volunteer club administrator to "Umthata based Sasol league team Ayakha Stars F.C") was selected to represent SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay at the FIFA Women’s Administration Workshop organised under the auspices of SAFA in Johannesburg from 20th to 23rd of August 2018.

The main aim of the workshop was to empower all women involved in the management of football in South Africa. It was open to managers of the 52 regions making up SAFA.

Sandiswa speaks of the event with great enthusiasm: "The workshop allowed us to develop our skills at all levels. Thanks to such initiatives, the role of women in football will increase both in quantity and in quality. This is fantastic."

Sandiswa is also an alumnus of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme organised with Nelson Mandela University (NMU). The young woman has fond memories of her classes at NMU: "That is where I acquired and developed my first management tools. I use them frequently in my daily work and my wish is to continue to make the difference in other women managers/administrators in the rural areas. The NMU/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme allowed me to improve my skills and opened up a great network of friends."

We wish Sandiswa a long and successful career as an administrator and manager serving South African football.
