Champions League support for Leicester City FC from CIES and the “FIFA Master”

For over 17 years, the “FIFA Master” - International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport course has had a long and proud association with Leicester City Football Club.

During the Humanities of Sport module, which is based in Leicester at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture at De Montfort University, “FIFA Master” students have been lucky enough to be able to visit Leicester City FC each year as part of their studies to learn more about the history and tradition of the club. As a result, “FIFA Master” graduates past and present have all been part of the incredible sporting story which unfolded in the city over the past 18 months.

Following their historic 5000-1 Premier League victory last season, for the first time in the 133 year history of the club, Leicester City FC will play in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this week with their away fixture against Atlético Madrid.

Humanities of Sport Module Co-ordinator and keen Foxes fan James Panter said, “We are extremely grateful for the kind and generous support Leicester City FC has given to the course over the past 17 years. The club certainly has many new international fans in our alumni association around the world and they are all part of the Foxes family now”.

The CIES, International Centre Sports History and Culture and course alumni, all send their best wishes to Leicester City FC as they continue their incredible sporting journey.
