CIES at the SportAccord Convention in St. Petersburg

The 2013 SportAccord Convention was held in St. Petersburg, Russia, from 26th – 31st May and for the third year running the CIES attended as an exhibitor.

The presence of the CIES at the SportAccord Convention, which is the largest congress in the sports industry calendar, is an important platform for the CIES to showcase its research, teaching and consultancy expertise to a wide international audience. It also provides important marketing and networking opportunities for collaborations with various international sports federations.

Vincent Schatzmann, CIES General Secretary said, "Our objectives were achieved. Indeed, during the third year of SportAccord, we noticed that the CIES and its activities are becoming more known and recognized within the sports industry."

He added "we are going in the right direction but our achievements so far would not have been possible without the fantastic work of all of the employees of the CIES. However, it is essential for the CIES to continue developing its activities and to maintain our leading quality."

Also present in St. Petersburg was Alessandro Pellicciotta, CIES Corporate Development Manager. He underlined the professional organization of the congress and added, "The SportAccord Convention is for us an important step in the overall process of recognition of the CIES brand. Indeed, this event not only allows us to position ourselves but more importantly to sustain our presence in the sports world and in particular with international sports federations."

Next year the SportAccord Convention will be held in Antalya Belek, Turkey, and the CIES is looking forward to participating again.
