CIES joins SportAccord Convention in Quebec City

The 2012 SportAccord Convention was held in Quebec City from 20th – 25th May and for the second year running the CIES attended as an exhibitor.

The presence of the CIES at the SportAccord Convention, which is the largest congress in the sports industry calendar, is an important platform for the CIES to showcase its research, teaching and consultancy expertise to a wide international audience. It also provides important networking, marketing and opportunities for collaborations with various international sports federations.

Vincent Schatzmann, General Secretary of the CIES and who attended the convention said, "Our objectives were achieved. Indeed, after only two years of attendance at SportAccord we have seen that the CIES and its activities are becoming increasingly strengthened and recognized within the sports industry."

“The hard work of all of the employees at the CIES is really bearing fruit and we are clearly heading in the right direction. However, much remains to be done to sustain and grow our institution and its reputation in the long run” added Schatzmann.

Also present in Quebec was CIES Corporate Development Manager Alessandro Pellicciotta. Underlining the professional organization of the congress and the kindness of the people from Quebec,  Pellicciotta added, "The CIES would like to thank all of the FIFA Master Alumni who took time to visit us on the stand.”

Next year the SportAccord Convention will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, and the CIES is looking forward to participating again.
