Safia Abdel Dayem, an alumna of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management organised with Cairo University (CU) and also a graduate from the FIFA Master (14th Edition), has just been appointed to the Board of the Cairo Section of the Egyptian Football Federation.
CU/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme and FIFA Master alumna, Safia Abdel Dayem, recognises that the combination of these two courses has allowed her to gain an enhanced understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of sport management, and to build a professional career in sport. “I was able to combine my technical knowledge of football with strong skills in the field of management. This gave me greater credibility”, said Safia.
After working for the Organising Committee of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup held in Egypt in 2015 and for the FIFA Development Office in Cairo, Safia is now delighted to be working for Egyptian football.
More specifically, Safia is responsible for grassroots and junior football competitions in the Cairo region, and in particular for the 3rd and 4th League competitions.
“We are currently planning matches for the 2018/2019 season. It’s really wonderful to be able to participate in the development of football, and to initiate young people in the emotions inspired by this sport.”
In addition, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Safia as a match commissioner. “The FIFA/CIES Executive Programme and the FIFA Master undoubtedly broadened my outlook, and my national and international networks. I had access to new opportunities. I am now fully prepared to carry out my new duties”, added Safia.
