FIFA/CIES NETWORK: NEW PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS!

Mariola Zarco, alumnus of the FIFA Master and coordinator of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Spain, has recently been hired by the Local Organising Committee Rio 2016. She will start her new professional activities within a few days.

After having achieved studies in the fields of business management and international business, Mariola successfully participated in the 8th edition of the FIFA Master (2008). She then worked, among others, for the Trade Commission of Spain in Miami, Roland Garros in Paris and the “Fédération Equestre Internationale” (FEI) in Lausanne. Her great passion for sports prompted her to develop the activities of paddle in Switzerland, and to volunteer for large, international sporting events such as the FIFA Confederation Cup Brazil 2013.

In addition, Mariola also held the position of coordinator for the first three editions of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Spain, in cooperation with the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF): “Without a doubt, attending the FIFA Master and working for the FIFA/CIES International University Network belong to some of the best decisions that I took in my life. I do not only think of the experiences that I made or the knowledge that I could acquire. I also mean the opportunity to meet the family around CIES. Students, professors, coordinators, partners, alumni or administrative staff made me feel surrounded with friendship. Many of them are now part of my life, on a professional as well as on a personal level”.

Taken on as an expert in sports management, Mariola will have to guarantee an efficient information flow among the Rio 2016 Sports Department, the International Olympic Committee and the entities in charge of knowledge transfer.

The whole FIFA/CIES Network Team congratulates Mariola, and wishes her every success in her new and exciting professional responsibilities!
