The Universidad San Martín de Porres (USMP) in Lima, a CIES partner since 2012, has officially started the enrolment procedure for the third FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management to be organised in Peru. Classes will start on 4 May 2015.
The FIFA/CIES Programme allows people from various professional and sporting backgrounds to familiarise themselves with modern management tools in key areas such as sport marketing, sponsorship, law, management, communication, finances and event management. Adapted to regional and national requirements, it also offers the opportunity to attend lectures given by international experts invited by FIFA and the CIES.
It should be noted that in 2014, USMP took the excellent initiative of organising a study trip to Argentina, thereby allowing students to visit prestigious clubs (Boca Juniors, River Plate), to meet their Argentinian colleagues at Universidad Católica Argentina and to attend conferences on sport marketing and law.
Alumni testimonials emphasise the strong points of the Programme. As Rafael Quesada (2014) puts it: “I thank USMP and CIES for organising this sport management Programme in Peru. USMP is a member of the FIFA/CIES International University Network which includes academic partners in sixteen countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
