Kozminski University (KU), the academic partner of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), launched the registration process for the first edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management in Poland. Organised thanks to the support of PL.2012+, the entity in charge of managing the National Stadium (Stadion Narodowy), the Programme will start on 25 October.
Organisation of the FIFA/CIES Programme is the result of the commitment of PL.2012+ to contribute to the legacy of EURO 2012 in Poland in the field of education. Classes will allow students to acquire essential knowledge in marketing, sponsorship, law, management, communication, finance and organisation of sports events.
KU, one of the top Polish universities, will adapt course content to the needs and realities of national sport. Moreover, the Programme will offer students the opportunity to attend conferences given by international experts who will share original views on ways to manage organisations or sports events.
Programme alumnus Solomon Mudege (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa), today a Marketing Alliance Manager at FIFA, comments: « I recommend the FIFA/CIES Programme without a shadow of a doubt. This is a unique curriculum which favours acquisition of excellent management principles while taking into account the specific environment of the countries where the Programme is taught. »
Carlos Velasco Carballo, a Programme alumnus from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain) and international football referee, adds: « This Programme allowed me to use many tools that are useful for sport management. Its diversity - both in terms of content and of participant profiles - enriched me enormously. And, above all, I can say that many of my former classmates are now my friends. »
The International University Network created within the framework of the FIFA/CIES Programme comprises 16 universities in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Poland, Peru, Russia, Senegal, Spain, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.
