Spain: Second permanent seminar on football law

Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), both partners of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) since 2010, will organise the second permanent Seminar on national and international football law. The first session will take place on 25 October 2014. URJC and RFEF are generously offering five bursaries to FIFA/CIES International University Network students and alumni.

Once again, the objective of the seminar is to offer specialists and students an opportunity to discuss and reflect on current legal issues related to football. As was the case during the first edition - which met with great success - it will welcome top-level experts and professionals and will allow participants to address themes as diverse as:

  • The supreme Court of football and its case law
  • Legal protection of coaches in the field of international football
  • Sports discipline in Spanish football
  • South-American football and its key legal challenges today and in the future
  • Legal regulations applying to television rights in Spanish football
  • The match-fixing phenomenon: A legal approach
  • The RFEF-LFP coordination agreement for 2014/2018
  • International player transfers: Main legal issues and CAS case law
  • Football players and the main challenges for the future in the Spanish legal system
  • Federative rights and investment funds. A legal approach.

URJC and RFEF are generously offering five bursaries to FIFA/CIES International University Network students and alumni. Please send your applications to Francisco Rubio Sánchez, FIFA/CIES Programme Director in Spain (e-mail: [email protected]) by 13 October 2014.
