Spain : Vicente del Bosque talks to the FIFA/CIES Programme students

Spanish national coach Vicente del Bosque gave a conference on November 4th during the closing ceremony of the first FIFA/CIES Sports Management Programme organised in cooperation with Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and the Spanish Football Federation - Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF).

Vicente del Bosque spoke to the 40 students receiving their diplomas as well as to the 43 new students who will be attending courses during the second edition of the Programme. Among other issues, he emphasized the role of education in sports organisations, so as to create optimal conditions for success: "It is important to benefit from unfailing administrative support. Communication plays an essential role given that all stakeholders - whether external or internal - must be united behind us!"

URJC Rector Pedro González-Trevijano paid tribute to the cooperation between his university, RFEF and CIES. It is vital that the academic world show interest in sport, as it has become an indisputable societal phenomenon in the space of just two decades.

Finally, RFEF Secretary General Jorge Pérez Arias emphasized the success of the Programme and indicated that the RFEF would create scholarships so that certain students could apply their new knowledge in favour of administration of Spanish football.
