SPORTS HISTORY MADE IN LEICESTER

There were celebrations not only in Leicester last night, but also across the world as CIES International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (FIFA Master) graduates heard news that Leicester City FC had won the Premier League title for the first time in their 132 year history. The FIFA Master Humanities of Sport module is based in Leicester at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture, De Montfort University. For over 16 years, the course has had a long association with the Foxes as students have been lucky enough to be able to visit Leicester City FC as part of their studies during the module.

James Panter, who is the Humanities of Sport Module Co-ordinator in Leicester and a keen Foxes supporter said, “Winning the Premier League title is just incredible. The fact that every student who has graduated from the course has been part of the Leicester City FC journey over the years and is now part of the Foxes family has made this season even more special. With Champions League football next season too, these are truly special times to be a Foxes fan!”

The CIES, International Centre Sports History and Culture, Leicester Co-Scientific Directors Prof. Martin Polley, Prof. Pierre Lanfranchi and especially James Panter, all send their congratulations to Leicester City FC on their historic achievements this season. This really is sports history!
