Tenth FIFA/CIES Programme in Argentina!

The Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), first academic partner of CIES, is now accepting applications for the tenth edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Argentina, scheduled to begin in late April.

It is with great pleasure that UCA and CIES are now launching the tenth edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management in Argentina. This event marks an important milestone in the on-going academic collaboration that started as a 'uncertain' project, but has now emerged as a solid and fruitful partnership. In fact, since 2004 the programme has brought together more than 300 students ? not only from Argentina ? but also from Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Panama, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain, Italy and France.

The President of FIFA, the initiator of the International Federation's academic activities, has stated: "The entire sports world - and football in particular - continues to evolve within a constantly shifting environment, one that is becoming more complex every day. I am convinced that sports managers require adequate training in order to cope with the many challenges they will face. The FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management (good governance), organised in cooperation with the Universidad Católica Argentina, is a great way for them to acquire the knowledge and tools they need to adequately confront these challenges".

Students attest to the excellent reputation that the programme has acquired over the years. One such student is Cristián Camilo Parra Aguirre from Colombia (2012): “In the near term, I hope to establish a sports club This programme has become the first concrete step in the direction of attaining my goal". And according to Nicolás Abud, an Argentinean attorney (2010): “The programme exceeded all my expectations (…). I can strongly recommend it to others, because it enhances your capabilities, professional knowledge and people skills, as well as how these relate to the world of sports. Moreover, the course is carried out in an atmosphere of excellence".

Application deadline:
