Third CIES and Dentsu co-hosted seminar held in Tokyo

Following the huge success in December last year of the co-hosted CIES and Dentsu seminar, a third event was held at the Dentsu Hall in Tokyo on the theme of "The radical change of Asian football" on 13th July 2015.

The latest event was yet again highly successful and featured prestigious speakers such as newly elected FIFA executive committee member Mr Kozo Tashima. It was standing room only for this third seminar as representatives from organizations such as the Japanese Football Association, J-League, various football clubs, sport marketing agencies, sponsors, media, universities and individuals with a strong interest in football business packed out the Dentsu Hall. In total, the series of seminars has brought together nearly 2,000 participants.

The latest seminar included four guest speakers, who covered the following topics:

‘Reason for fighting in Asia as a pioneer’

‘Looking upon Global Football as a FIFA EXCO Member’

All  four guest speakers  examined the drastically changing football industry today  and also gave their predictions and opinions on Asian and Global football. The seminar opened with Mr. Yoshihiro OI (DENTSU Inc.) who explained the latest issues facing  Asian Football in 2015 as well as looking at the  AFC Champions League. This presentation was then followed by Mr. Diederik DEWAELE (ECA). Mr. DEWAELE spoke  about the ECA organization as well as giving his opinion on how the ECA relates and affects Asian football. He also mentioned the possibility of the ECA supporting teams outside of Europe. The third speaker was Mr. Toshiya MIURA (VFF), the current head coach of the Vietnam national team. He was introduced as the most famous Japanese man in Vietnam. Mr. MIURA talked in detail about the challenges and rewards of being  the head coach in a foreign country and also his targets  for the Vietnam National Team moving forward. Lastly, the newly elected FIFA EXCO Member and the Vice President of JFA, Mr. Kozo TASHIMA  closed the seminar with his presentation on the  theme of ‘Looking upon Global Football as a FIFA EXCO Member’. Mr. TASHIMA gave his thoughts on Japanese football and also explained the three promises he has made as a FIFA EXCO Member of ‘Strengthening Asian and Global Football’, ‘Management and Governing of AFC’ and ‘Securing safe conditions to play and enjoy football’.
