In the presence of Mr. Philippe Leuba, State Councillor and Head of the Department of Economy and Sports for Vaud, Marc Vuilleumier, Town Councillor responsible for sports, integration and protection for Lausanne and Sergei Aschwanden, Olympic medallist and ambassador of WISE, the press conference focused on the originality of this new platform which will help to better connect sport governing bodies with local companies and assist with the provision of services to the sports industry.

State Councillor Mr. Philippe Leuba, looked forward to welcoming governing body representatives and the future leaders of the sports industry to the Olympic capital. He said, “Today, sport has become a market which generates millions of Swiss francs each year. For many local companies, entering this market offers growth and promotion potential which is still to be fully developed.”

WISE is dedicated to sports career promotion and brings together influential individuals from the world of sport. This new forum will demonstrate the diversity and range of sports careers available, their evolution in the market and the education programmes related to this exciting area of work. Furthermore, stakeholders from other industries will also contribute by sharing their experiences, enabling WISE delegates to expand and galvanize their network of contacts and help to create new commercial and career opportunities.

The WISE convention agenda will focus on career development and will include more than 60 interdisciplinary conferences, workshops and round table sessions. The programme for each day will also include the full participation of sports professionals with diverse industry experience.

In addition to the main exhibition programme, activities to support meetings and networking will complete the convention, bringing together established companies in the sports industry with those wishing to enter the market.
