Documentation centre
CIES has an in-house Documentation Centre which is open to the public. Resources are focused on the fields of sports law, social sciences, economics and management. The Centre is staffed to provide personalised help with documentary research.
Since its creation, the CIES Documentation Centre has constantly evolved. Today, it’s catalogue references over 4’300 books, 73 periodicals, and many more resources. It allows searches through over 22’000 chapters, articles, dissertations and reports. This is all accessible on the premises, and through the Swisscovery system, as part of the University of Neuchâtel’s library service.
The CIES Documentation Centre has become a reference point in terms of documentary research for use of the sports community (students, doctoral students, scholars, professors, researchers, lawyers from Switzerland and abroad, managers of sports organisations, experts, etc.). It is part of multiples networks and collaborates with partners worldwide.
At the initiative of the CIES librarian, a Swiss Network of sports librarians was created in 2003, further contributing to the development of sports documentation in general in Switzerland.
As part of this project, the CIES Documentation Centre also participates in the metacatalogue of Swiss Sports Libraries, which allows to find resources anywhere in the network.
Don’t forget that the Documentation Centre has also a Facebook page.
