Applications NOW OPEN for the 26th edition of Europe’s No.1 ranked FIFA Master course

The official application portal for the next edition of the award winning FIFA Master is now open.

Named by the 2024 SportBusiness global Postgraduate rankings as Europe’s No.1 ranked course for the twelfth time, former course Patrons have included Olympic rowing Gold Medallist Emma Twigg, South African Rugby World Cup winning captain Francois Pienaar and FIFA Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger.

Organised by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) and supported by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), successful applicants for the 26th edition of this full-time course will study the Humanities of Sport at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture at De Montfort University, England, followed by Sport Management at SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy and then Sports Law at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. Students will also complete a group Final Project on a research topic of their choice.

With about 90% of our 650+ FIFA Master graduates now working in the global sports industry, the impact of the programme reaches across all continents and nations. Our alumni are currently working for organisations as diverse as, but not limited to, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), UEFA, AFC, Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) and various sporting NGO’s.

Speaking about her time on the course, Erica Puppo who is now FIFPro Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Manager said, “the FIFA Master helped me to acquire a holistic understanding of the sports industry. It pushed me to go beyond my immediate area of focus and interest. As a result, it opened my mind and exposed me to aspects of the industry that I would have never encountered otherwise”.  Gianluca Famigli who is Senior Competitions Manager in the Women’s Football Competitions Department at FIFA added, “The FIFA Master was one of the most important steps I took in order to kick-start my career in the sports industry. The network and the community of the FIFA Master have played a major role in the development of my career in the football industry”. Finally, Pierre Ducrey, who is now Olympic Games Operations Director at the International Olympic Committee said, “Completing the FIFA Master proved to be a key step in my career. It allowed me to meet fantastic individuals who became close friends, meet with key people in the industry and confirmed that this was the career I wanted to pursue”.

Please note that the deadline for applying to the 26th Edition (2025-2026) of the FIFA Master is midday (12pm) Central European Time on Friday, 10 January 2025

Only complete applications received by this date will be considered by the Scientific Committee.
