What does your current role involve?

Currently, I work as the Club Relationship Manager for the Saudi Pro League. My job involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including players and staff. I am the main point of contact, handling their needs, concerns and questions quickly and professionally. This role requires me to work closely with different departments within the club and external partners to ensure smooth communication and coordination. By promoting open communication between players, staff and management, I help create a positive and unified team culture, which is crucial for the club's success.

Being part of the Saudi Pro League and contributing to the exciting developments in Saudi football is an incredible opportunity. I also play a role in strategic planning and decision-making by offering insights into player and staff dynamics. This job demands a solid understanding of the sports ecosystem and strong interpersonal skills. With over a decade of experience in football management, business development and commercial operations, I am well-prepared to handle these responsibilities effectively, ensuring the club runs smoothly and achieves its objectives.

Which aspects of the FIFA Master course have helped you most in your career?

Being part of the FIFA Master programme was a significant milestone for me, fulfilling a long-held aspiration. The knowledge and skills I gained have directly mirrored the practical challenges I face daily in sports management, whether when I am working in clubs, federations, leagues, or other sports organizations.

I distinctly remember applying insights from SDA Bocconi's strategic development and marketing modules to enhance club branding and operational strategies. Likewise, my grasp of sports law from the University of Neuchâtel module has been pivotal in managing player contracts and navigating regulatory frameworks.

Studying sports history at De Montfort University has also shaped my approach to building club identities and fostering social impact initiatives. Overall, the FIFA Master experience has been instrumental, constantly enriching my professional journey with practical wisdom and expanding my network within the global sports community.

Moreover, the FIFA Master Alumni network (FMA) has been invaluable. It provides a global community of professionals in the sports industry whom I can reach out to for advice, recommendations or collaboration opportunities. Whether discussing new trends in sports or seeking insights on international sporting regulations, having colleagues from diverse backgrounds and experiences has greatly enhanced my ability to navigate and excel in the dynamic world of sports management.

What advice would you give to future students on the course?

For future students of the FIFA Master, I would advise making the most of every aspect of this unique opportunity. Studying in three different countries allows you to learn from a diverse group of classmates, each with their own professional experiences and cultural backgrounds. This exchange of ideas and perspectives is incredibly enriching and prepares you well for a career in sports management.
