Kevin Tallec Marston

Kevin Tallec Marston has researched, taught and written about sport since arriving at CIES in 2005. He holds a PhD in History from De Montfort University’s International Centre for Sports History and Culture (Leicester, UK) where he is a long-time Honorary Senior Visiting Researcher & Lecturer, as well as degrees in sports law (CAS from UNINE), sport management (FIFA Master), and a B.A. from the College of William & Mary. Kevin has published on the history of sport in relation to youth, Asia, geopolitics, international relations, memory and monuments, the Olympics, nationality & citizenship, ethnicity, and legacy as well as authored two books on European & global football governance. He has led the Research Methods & Final Project Dissertation Modules on the ‘FIFA Master’ for many years, as well as taught regular classes on the history & governance of sport. Since 2021 he has co-taught an undergraduate course (Management du Sport) at UNINE. He has been invited to lecture in multiple universities in Europe and beyond. Over the years, Kevin has directed a host of research projects and designed sports management educational syllabi & programmes for CIES and multiple international sporting organisations including UEFA, FIFA and CONMEBOL. He lectures in English, French, Italian, and, with assistance, Spanish.
