17 International University Network candidates apply for the “FIFA Master Scholarship”

By the registration deadline of 21st January 2012, CIES had received a record number of applications for the thirteenth edition of the FIFA Master Programme. The final list of several hundred applicants included 17 graduates from the partner universities of the FIFA/CIES International University Network. All of them have completed the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sports Management at the following universities:

·         Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa (6)

·         University of South Africa, Pretoria, South Africa (2)

·         University of the West Indies, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (2)

·         Bahcesehir University, Istanbul, Turkey (1)

·         National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine, Kiev (1)

·         Cairo University, Egypt (1)

·         Universidad Católica Argentina, Buenos Aires (1)

·         Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal (1)

·         Universidad de Costa Rica, San José (1),

·         Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain (1)

CIES and the FIFA Master Scientific Committee will now review all of the candidates and decide who should be awarded the scholarship. A final decision is expected by the end of March.

The scholarship for the International University Network was established to promote and develop relations between the FIFA / CIES Programme in Sports Management and the FIFA Master. It is hoped this will further reinforce the feeling of belonging of Programme alumni within the CIES community.
