A day at the heart of world football: The 16th edition class of the “FIFA Master” visits the FIFA headquarters in Zurich.

Each year, the International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (“FIFA Master”) class has the opportunity to be hosted at the Home of FIFA for a full day field visit. This is indeed a key moment in the life of each edition, as it allows students to hear various talks from key personnel at one of the most important international sporting federations.
The "FIFA Master" is firmly established as one of the world’s leading sport management courses and has been ranked the best postgraduate sport management programme in Europe in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and also the top course in the world in 2014 by the industry journal Sport Business International. Our strong reputation is thanks to a wide and stimulating mix of both theoretical teaching and practical case studies. Our postgraduate programme offers a large number of field visits throughout the three modules to prestigious sporting organisations such as the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon, Manchester City FC, Leicester City FC, Manchester United FC, AC Milan, the IOC, UEFA and Ducati, for example. This allows for a unique industry-based learning process which has proved to be highly effective, especially in terms of professional skills development. The yearly visit to FIFA perfectly embodies this innovative approach.
Thus, on Friday 8th April 2016, the “FIFA Master” class had the immense pleasure and honour to be welcomed to FIFA by President Gianni Infantino.
President Infantino also awarded the FIFA/CIES International University Network Prize to the Executive Sports Management programme’s winning student group for their outstanding project work last year.
The field visit ended with a mixed football match between FIFA staff and members of the 16th edition FIFA Master class. This was followed by a joint evening dinner.
The International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) and the course organisers would like to warmly thank FIFA for hosting the 16th edition class in such a welcoming way and for making the visit such a special day.
