Argentina: UCA launches the 11th edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme

Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), the first academic partner of CIES, is now accepting applications for the 11th edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Argentina, scheduled to begin in Buenos Aires on 5 May 2014.
It is with great pleasure that UCA and CIES are now launching the 11th edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management in Argentina. Over the years, their cooperation has evolved into a strong and fruitful partnership. The Programme has built an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally. In fact, since 2004 the Programme has brought together more than 350 students - not only from Argentina - but also from Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Guatemala, Panama, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain, Greece, Italy and France.
Joseph S. Blatter, President of FIFA and initiator of the International Federation's academic activities, has stated: "The entire sports world - and football in particular - continues to evolve within a constantly shifting environment, one that is becoming more complex every day. I am convinced that sports managers require adequate training in order to cope with the many challenges they will face. The FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management (good governance), organised in cooperation with Universidad Católica Argentina, is a great way for them to acquire the knowledge and tools they need to adequately confront these challenges".
Student testimonials confirm the strong points of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Programme. To quote Iakavos Vazaios from Greece (2013): “The Programme was excellent. What made the difference? The people I had the opportunity to meet during classes. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Programme taught me a lot and was very useful. The teachers are top-level experts who succeeded in sharing their knowledge and experience with talent. I recommend the Programme because it offers comprehensive training which covers not only professional and sporting fields, but also human aspects.”
We can also mention the comments made by Francisco Maciel, a former professional football player from Argentina (2012): “The Programme allowed me to gain new knowledge and to apply it to football. In this sport, we have an essential need for professional and well-trained managers capable of bringing significant change in the way clubs are run. (…). The Programme is organised and taught by top specialists. Real luxury!”
