Chile: Success for the 28 students of the 17th UST/FIFA/CIES International Programme

The 28 students of the 17th FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management recently received their diplomas during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Federación de Fútbol de Chile and the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional in Santiago, Chile.
It was in the main hall of the headquarters of the Federación de Fútbol de Chile and the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional that the 28 students of the 17th edition of the FIFA/CIES International Programme celebrated their graduation after successfully completing their eight-month course last December.
On this occasion, Rodrigo Álvarado, director of the Instituto de Ciencias del Deporte at the Universidad Santo Tomás (UST), CIES' academic partner in Chile, announced the best group project. It is entitled Experiencia Estadio: Vive Replay. This project will participate in the 2026 FIFA/CIES International Network Award.
During the ceremony, several participants spoke about the International Programme and its role in the sporting landscape in Chile. One of the graduates said: ‘I searched for this type of course for a long time. I wanted to continue my studies with a sports-related qualification. I am very satisfied with this Programme. I have benefited greatly from it.’
For his part, Michael Boys, CIES local coordinator, commented: ‘The Programme in Chile is one of the oldest in the FIFA/CIES University Network. After 17 years, it is remarkably well established in the national sports industry.’
It should be noted that several people have taken the Programme as a ‘professional transition tool’ for the Pan American and Parapan American Games Santiago 2023.
We congratulate the new graduates and thank them for the trust they have placed in us. We hope that this success will be an important step in their careers as sports managers.
