On 6th December 2018, CIES signed a new cooperation agreement with CBF in Rio de Janeiro. The objective of the agreement is to organise conferences and seminars on topical themes related to football. The two signing parties also aim to exchange experiences and experts in their respective fields of competence.

In this respect, Pierre Cornu, President of the CIES Foundation Council, commented, "We are pleased to cooperate with one of the most successful sports organisations, within the framework of events organised around football, its current realities and the challenges it has to face in a very changing environment. This cooperation will enable us to diversify and consolidate our activities."

CIES is already active in Brazil where it has been organising the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management in cooperation with Fundação Getulio Vargas since 2010.
