21 March 2013

On the occasion of a graduation ceremony organised last week at the Faculty of Commerce of Cairo University, twenty-five students received diplomas upon completion of the fifth edition of the FIFA/CIES Sport Management Programme, which started in late August 2012.

The students coming from diverse countries (Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Sudan and Zimbabwe in addition to Egypt), were personally awarded diplomas by Prof. Dr Said Daw, the new Dean of Faculty of Commerce and former Olympic athlete (diving).

The FIFA/CIES Programme is divided into three 10-day periods of classes and provides students the tools they will need to better manage sports issues, as well as to further enhance their personal expertise in the field. Furthermore, the programme is an excellent opportunity to establish, further develop, and consolidate a professional network of the highest quality.

The students also had the privilege of hearing presentations by various international experts such as Nicholas Gancikoff, CEO of the Sports Investment Group, Jair Bertoni, Head of Cabinet of the EPFL (European Professional Football Leagues), and Rory Steyn, consultant, CEO of Nicholls Steyn & Associates (PTY) Ltd.

CIES is pleased to congratulate this new generation of sports managers and wishes the graduates much success in the sports world: Mohamed, Hossam, Rama, Esraa, Alhaitham, Izeldin, Fathy, Hussein, Meshal, Sayed, Omar, Ayman, Ramy, Amr, Mohamed, Nadim, George, Hussein, Mostafa, Mahmoud, Moustafa, Saud, Nada, Ejiro and Mohamed.
