FIM Launches Future Leaders Programme in Collaboration with CIES

The FIM is proud to announce the launch of the FIM Future Leaders Programme, a transformative initiative aimed at equipping high-potential employees from National Federations with the leadership skills needed to drive the future of motorcycling. The programme, scheduled to commence in January 2025, is designed in collaboration with the world-renowned International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), bringing together academic excellence and practical sports management expertise.
 
The FIM Future Leaders Programme has a clear goal: to build a strong pipeline of capable and diverse leaders who can guide National Federations through future challenges. The programme is particularly focused on fostering gender equality and empowering women in leadership roles within motorcycling organisations, spearheaded by the FIM Women’s Commission.

CIES, with its long-standing history of excellence in academic research and sports management education, has played a key role in designing the programme. Participants will benefit from a multidisciplinary curriculum covering topics such as leadership, strategy, environmental sustainability, and effective communication.

The eight-month programme includes interactive webinars with industry experts, coaching sessions for leadership development, a Capstone Project addressing real-world challenges in motorcycling and a two-day workshop at the FIM Headquarters in Mies, Switzerland.

This initiative is part of FIM’s long-term vision to support the growth of National Federations and to ensure a robust leadership succession plan. Applications are open until the end of December 2024, with selected participants embarking on their leadership journey in early 2025.

The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) is an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It was created as a Foundation in 1995 by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the University of Neuchâtel, the City and State of Neuchâtel.
