Five FIFA/CIES Programme students to participate in the FIFA Master Programme!

28 May 2013

It is a great pleasure for the International University Network to announce that five graduates of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management will be participating in the 14th edition of the FIFA Master Programme to commence this coming September.

At the end of its selection deliberations, the FIFA Master Scientific Committee announced that five graduates of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management are to be awarded partial scholarships (Network Scholarship, FIFA/CIES Scholarship). They will now have the opportunity to continue their higher education in the best sports management master available in Europe.

The fortunate recipients are :

  • Charisse Bacchus (The University of the West Indies, Saint Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago)
  • Zarina Bahdur (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa)
  • Diego Brenes (University of Costa Rica, San José)
  • Safia Abdel Dayem (Cairo University, Egypt)
  • Mohamed Seif (Cairo University, Egypt)

Needless to say, this is very good news indeed and a source of great satisfaction and motivation for all members of the Network, whether programme directors, head of modules, CIES coordinators, lecturers, students and alumni. This is a further testimonial to the quality of the professional and academic profiles of the persons taking part in the FIFA/CIES Programme, as well as to the excellent results achieved by our fourteen partner universities.

The awarding of these scholarships again illustrates CIES' commitment to building bridges between its different training programmes, all with a view to expanding the horizons and academic perspectives of the students.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Charisse, Zarina, Diego, Safia and Mohamed, and we wish them a rewarding academic experience at Leicester, Milan and Neuchâtel!
