Palestine: New graduates and new students at Birzeit University
After nearly three years, Birzeit University (BZU) in Ramallah held a new graduation ceremony to celebrate the eighteen students who have successfully completed the BZU/FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sport Management.
The ceremony, which took place on 7th February, also welcomed fourteen new students who have enrolled on the latest 2026 edition of the Programme. The event was attended by the Director of the BZU Continuing Education Centre, the President of the Palestinian Football Association, the Head of the FIFA/CIES International University Network, as well as several teachers, Palestinian sports officials and media representatives.
The speakers highlighted the merits of both former and current students taking courses in a difficult environment, which requires motivation and commitment, with the aim of working for the community in the long term.
They also emphasised the excellence of the teaching provided at Birzeit University. This was confirmed by the inclusion of a group project from the latest edition of the programme in the shortlist of entries competing for the 2026 FIFA/CIES International University Network Project Award. The project is entitled ‘A sports rehabilitation model for the integration of amputees into sports clubs: An applied study in the Gaza Strip’.
