Record number of students for the University of Cairo
The University of Cairo, a CIES partner since 2007, officially opened the 4th edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme during a very cordial ceremony held on October 17th. More than 30 students will attend the courses broken down into 3 intensive curriculum blocks until July 2012.

Moreover, in compliance with the CIES objective of openness, representatives of sports other than football will attend the courses.
CIES President Bertrand Reeb emphasized that the FIFA/CIES Programme offers not only theoretical knowledge of sports management, but is also rooted in local realities, with a focus on practical cases. Moreover, the Programme is a breeding ground for different professional and sports profiles allowing exchange of experience and consolidation of networks. The CIES President also mentioned the objective of CIES to develop the feeling of belonging to the International University Network, as shown by the "Network Award" (competition aimed at rewarding the best group work within the partner universities) or the creation of the "Network Scholarship" (special scholarship set aside for a Programme alumnus to allow him/her to attend the FIFA Master). And there are other projects underway…
