Remembering 2022: Meeting of FIFA/CIES International University Network in Doha
About 40 members of the FIFA/CIES University Network met in Doha from Thursday 08 to Saturday 10 December 2022 in the framework of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Many partner universities (Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela) were represented by alumni and/or people involved in the International Programme in Sports Management.
All were able to attend the 'FMA International Sports Conference 2022' at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday 08 December, and a lunch on Friday 09 December in the presence of Honey Thaljieh, FIFA Corporate Communications Manager, as well as the CIES President and Secretary General.
In the evening, everyone headed to the Lusail Stadium to watch the ¼ final between Argentina and the Netherlands. The next morning, the most daring were able to let off steam on one of the training fields of the Ahmed Bin Ali stadium by taking part in a friendly football match in good spirits.
The event allowed the members of the FIFA/CIES University Network to meet in an atmosphere conducive to exchanges and sporting emotions. It will leave beautiful memories in the minds of all participants.
