Spain: Denis Oswald to attend conference on doping

Professor Denis Oswald, a member of the IOC Executive Board and Director of the Centre International d’Etude du Sport (CIES) will participate in a seminar on doping on 28 May in Madrid.

The seminar is organized by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), who have been partners of the CIES since 2010 along with the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF). The special conference will aim to analyze and discuss the new draft law on doping in Spain.

The prestigious list of guest speakers will include Cardenal Miguel Carro, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Higher Sports Council of Spain, Alejandro Blanco Bravo, President of the Spanish National Olympic Committee, Ana Muñoz Merino, Director of the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency and Emilio Garcia Silvero, Director of Legal Affairs of the RFEF and CAS arbitrator.

As chairman of the Coordination Commission for the London 2012 Olympic Games, Denis Oswald will speak specifically of the fight against doping at international level and particularly the challenges that London 2012 will face in this area.
