Venezuela: UNIMET students organise a new competition!

The students enrolled on the 6th edition of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sports Management (Diplomado Internacional en Gerencia Deportiva) taught by Universidad Metropolitana (UNIMET) with the support of Gerencia Deportiva Internacional (GDI), organised a junior competition on 22nd May in Caracas.

The students organised the 1st edition of the UNIMET/GDI Football Cup (Copa UNIMET/GDI) bringing together 8 teams of players under the age of 10 on the university campus. The main objective of the competition was to put the knowledge acquired by the students during the 8 months of the Executive Programme curriculum into practice.

After several closely contended matches, the “Deportivo Gulima” team won the Cup by beating “Estudiantes de Caracas” by 3 goals to 1.

It should be noted that the young footballers flawlessly upheld the principles of fair play. The “40 FC” team was awarded the trophy as a reward for the exemplary behaviour of its players on the field.
