Zimbabwe: Students on the first MSU/ZIFA/FIFA/CIES International Programme begin their studies
In a major first at the Midlands State University (MSU) campus in Harare, CIES’s academic partner in Zimbabwe, thirty students recently began their studies on the first edition of the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management, organised with the support of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
The new students gathered for a five-day face-to-face session. Here, they were able to learn in detail about the programme’s general framework, academic and administrative requirements and familiarise themselves with the methodological guidelines for the group project they will be required to present at the end of the course.
The week was primarily devoted to the management module, covering both theory and practice, with a focus on the African sporting ecosystem.
The students also attended a session on career development, as well as a match in the national Premier Soccer League.
We would like to welcome the participants of this first edition of the MSU/ZIFA/FIFA/CIES International Programme in Zimbabwe. We are confident that the course will enable them to discover and better understand the complexities of sports management.
