What does your current role involve?

Back in 2011 I joined IMG, a global leader in sports, media and events. In my position as VP Licensing, I am responsible for driving strategic partnerships, managing client relationships, and overseeing the execution of high-profile brand licensing projects. My work involves collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including sports clubs, personalities, athletes and events, in order to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the value and reach of their intellectual properties. My role requires a deep understanding of the brand licensing industry, as well as the ability to navigate its complexities while maintaining a focus on achieving both short-term objectives and long-term growth.

Which aspects of the FIFA Master course have helped you most in your career?

The FIFA Master programme was a transformative experience, providing me with the knowledge, skills and network to excel in the sports industry. The interdisciplinary curriculum gave me a holistic understanding of the global sports landscape. This foundation has been invaluable in my career, enabling me to approach challenges with a well-rounded perspective and make informed decisions that align with both business objectives and the broader goals of the sports community.

One of the most significant assets I gained from the FIFA Master is its alumni network. I consider myself fortunate to be part of a global community of sports professionals who share a common bond and a commitment to supporting one another. The friendships and connections I formed during the programme have not only enriched my personal life but also provided me with a reliable source of advice, collaboration and inspiration throughout my career. Whether seeking insights into new markets, exploring career opportunities, or simply catching up over a coffee, I know I can count on the FIFA Master network wherever my journey takes me.

What advice would you give to future students on the course?

My advice to future FIFA Master students is to fully embrace the unique opportunity the programme offers to learn from and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. While the academic content and industry insights are invaluable, it is the relationships you build with your classmates that will leave a lasting impact. Take the time to listen to their perspectives, share your own experiences and engage in meaningful discussions—even when opinions differ. These interactions will broaden your understanding of the sports industry and challenge you to think critically about your own assumptions.

Additionally, I definitely encourage students to make the most of the programme’s immersive experiences, including field visits and guest lectures. These opportunities provide a firsthand look at the inner workings of the sports industry and allow you to learn from the successes and challenges of leading organizations. Above all, I emphasize the importance of being open-minded, curious and proactive in building relationships. The FIFA Master is not just a year of study. It is the foundation for a lifelong journey in the world of sports and the connections you make will be an enduring source of support and inspiration.
