June - A Month of Learning, Competition and Fellowship on the FIFA Master
June for the FIFA Master 24th edition class was a vortex of activity, perfectly encapsulating the programme’s combination of academic theory, professional exposure and community building.
The month kicked-off on a competitive note with the annual friendly match between FIFA employees and the 24th edition class. This tradition undoubtedly fostered a sense of fellowship and friendly rivalry between the two groups.
Just a couple of days later, the focus shifted to career opportunities and insights into sports governance, with the iWorkinSport Job Fair and the field visit to FIBA, the International Basketball Federation.
Later in the month, our academic pursuits took center stage with the "Simulation Maladière" exercise. This unique activity, focusing on Operational Readiness for Sports Events, included a visit at the Neuchâtel Xamax Football Club stadium.
Further solidifying our legal knowledge, we also participated in a challenging Moot Court examination. This group-based exercise pushed us to approach a realistic legal situation from multiple angles. Working collaboratively, we strengthened our legal reasoning skills and presentation techniques, preparing us to navigate the potential complexities of the sports industry.
June wasn't all work and no play, however. The month also saw us gather by the lake for birthday celebrations and barbeques. These informal get-togethers, fueled by laughter and camaraderie, were a chance to relax, bond with classmates and create lasting memories that extend beyond the classroom.
Adding to the sense of community, 8th June saw another annual football game and a unique “sushi-cue” with FIFA Master Alumni. This friendly competition provided an opportunity for the class to connect with graduates of the programme and gain valuable insights for our future steps in the world of sports.
Looking ahead, the focus has shifted to the final hurdle – our Final Projects Conference. With just a couple of weeks left to complete project research, write 20,000 words and prepare presentations on our seven chosen topics, the class is sprinting towards the finish line.
The finish line is fast approaching !
