A record breaking 110 attendees from 8 countries joined the 2024 “Latinoamérica” Study Trip which took place from 3rd to 5th September in Bogotá against the backdrop of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024.
Universidad Sergio Arboleda’s campus played host to four inspiring keynote speeches about Brazil’s bid and readiness to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, sport marketing, the rebuilding of Estadio El Campin and leadership in sport.
Furthermore, all participants enjoyed 2 matchdays at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024, including Mexico’s solid performance against Australia and Colombia’s electrifying win over Cameroon in front of a sell-out crowd at Estadio El Campin, as well as Germany edging past Nigeria and a vibrant nil-nil match between Venezuela and South Korea, at Estadio de Techo.
Finally, a dinner hosted by CIES capped off this series of enlightening events and social activities that brought the “Latinoamérica” FIFA/CIES community together to enhance their knowledge and foster networking opportunities.
The local organizing team remains thankful to CIES, Universidad Sergio Arboleda, the Colombian Football Federation and the regional partner universities for their unwavering support. It also congratulates the Colombian participants and the visiting delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Perú, Puerto Rico and Venezuela for their enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the various events.
