Costa Rica: Thirty-four students in the starting blocks

University of Costa Rica inaugurated the 17th edition of the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management last Friday in San José.
Thirty-four students from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico will follow the online courses provided until September, when they will meet again to summarise their lessons, present their group project work and receive their diplomas.
During their opening face-to-face session, the new cohort was able to familiarise themselves with the content of each of the six modules and visit the Estadio Nacional in the La Sabana district. They also attended a lecture by Ivy Placensia, ‘Gerente Legal Deportivo / Desarrollo Académico’ of the Federación Peruana de Fútbol and Head of the Sports Law Course as part of the FIFA/CIES International Programme organised in Peru.
We wish our new students every success with their studies and thank them for their confidence. We would also like to thank the Costa Rican team, who over the years have made the Programme a benchmark in their country and in Central America more widely.
