The University of Costa Rica welcomes the new students from the FIFA/CIES International Programme
Thirty-four students have begun the 18th edition of the UCR/FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management during a face-to-face session organised by the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in San José.
Hailing from various countries (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Italy), they had the opportunity to meet the coordinators of the different modules that make up the Programme. They were thus able to familiarise themselves with some of the important topics related management, finance, communication, law, marketing/sponsorship and event management, which they will explore in greater depth over the next seven months.
This session also gave them the chance to visit the headquarters of the Costa Rican Football Federation and to start thinking about the group project they will present in September. This project must meet a number of criteria, notably that it is local, concrete, innovative and feasible.
A warm welcome to the new students, who form a motivated and enthusiastic group. And a big thank you to the organisers in Costa Rica who, for years, have been doing a remarkable job of establishing the FIFA/CIES Programme as a benchmark in the country and the region.
